The number of inter-company e-mobility projects is increasing dramatically. This comes as no surprise since the market now demands it. A few key figures make this clear. No matter how you as a taxpayer feel about the costly purchase incentives for electric cars, they do more than just promote a transition to a new technology. They also provide clear insight into buyers\u2019 interests. In 2020, subsidy applications were submitted for just over 250,000 electric vehicles in Germany. By contrast, in 2021, the same number was already reached in the first six months of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The figures for registrations make this even clearer. In 2020, the number of electric cars had already tripled at close to 200,000. There were also other types of powertrains which are not solely based on petrol. Gas, hydrogen and hybrids increased the number of newly licensed vehicles with alternative drives to 395,000. If around 400,000 electric vehicles and several hundred thousand with other alternative drives have been added by late 2021, this will mean that nearly one in three newly licensed vehicles will no longer be powered by conventional means. This is a clear upward surge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Curiously, this trend also extends to heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Notably, several hundred Hyundai hydrogen-powered trucks have already been on the move in Switzerland for over a year. These vehicles have effortlessly logged more than a million kilometres on the picturesque mountain roads of this Alpine country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
