It was Nissan who initially started it all, launching the Leaf onto the market as one of the first viable electric cars. Its range was acceptable, at least for urban driving, and its drive comfort was already unrivalled at that time. For a while, it was also the top-selling electric vehicle in the world. Nissan was ahead of the curve with its ideas \u2013 regenerative braking, grid management, the car as an energy storage unit. Nissan has even implemented autonomous driving between Tokyo and Yokohama. However, we ourselves haven\u2019t got that far yet. There are still numerous issues to overcome, especially regarding high-precision satellite navigation and legal clarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The climate crisis and the EU\u2019s ambitious carbon emission goals have led to a major shift in thinking across Europe over the past two years. E-mobility is the buzzword and, one by one, the major automotive manufacturers are bidding farewell to combustion engine technology, which has been revered for over a century.
